Neosho, MO November 21, 2011—ACCESS Family Care (ACCESS) created an impact of $12.6 million including $8 million in value-added spending or personal income according to a report released by Capital Lin, Inc. The organization injected almost $4.2 million of operating expenditures directly into the local economy. The report adds that these expenditures produced additional indirect and induced economic activity of $6.2 million to create the $12.6 million impact.

Capital Link also reports that ACCESS directly generated 106 full-time jobs resulting in indirect and induced impact creating an estimated 149 additional full-time jobs. “This report is based on last year’s data numbers, since then, we’ve added over 30 new jobs,” states Executive Director Don McBride. “I’m sure the impact is even greater now.”

The report summarizes that ACCESS has a significant community and economic development role in its community.

ACCESS is a non-profit, community-based corporation that provides comprehensive primary and preventive health care and social services to medically underserved individuals and families. “The analysis clearly demonstrates that as a result of the combined effect of its multiple roles as service provider, employer, and local business, the health center has a significant community and economic development role,” states the report.

ACCESS Family Care (ACCESS), was founded in 1996 as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) for the purpose of increasing access to primary health care for those who lack medical insurance coverage. As an FQHC, ACCESS receives a 330 Federal grant from the Bureau of Primary Health Care designed to offset the expenses associated with providing sliding fee discounts to patients who demonstrate economic need.
